Disney Motivational Mantras

While I am currently tapering for the Woodlands Marathon, I know a lot of you all are currently in your taper time for the upcoming Disney Princess Half Marathon weekend!

This taper period before a race definitely gives runners some extra free time to research more race information, and also to think about race strategy. Part of this strategy is finding a mantra, a short motivational phrase, which is a fantastic way to give yourself an extra boost during a race if you start to feel like you are hitting a wall. So, here is a list of a few motivational quotes by Disney for some mantra inspiration – perfect for all the Princess Half runners out there, or even runners who just love Disney, like me!

“You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” -- Christopher Robin, Winnie the Pooh

“Trials and tribulations, I’ve had my share. There ain't nothing gonna stop me now ‘cause I'm almost there.” -- Tiana, Princess and the Frog

“Look inside yourself. You are more than what you have become.” -- Mufasa, The Lion King

“You’re mad, bonkers, off your head! But I’ll tell you a secret: all the best people are.” -- Alice Kingsley, Alice in Wonder Land

“Even miracles take a little time.” -- Fairy Godmother, Cinderella

“I am on my way, I can go the distance. I don’t care how far, somehow I’ll be strong. I know every mile will be worth my while.” -- Hercules, Hercules

“All it takes is faith and trust.” -- Peter Pan, Peter Pan

“Just Keep Swimming…” -- Dory, Finding Nemo

“All our dreams can come true…if we have the courage to pursue them.” -- Walt Disney

“In every job that must be done, there is an element of fun.” -- Mary Poppins, Mary Poppins

“It’s kind of fun to do the impossible.” -- Walt Disney

“Giving up is for rookies.” -- Phil, Hercules

  1. I always say the just keep swimming mantra, but I switch out running for swimming! It's hard to believe this time last year we were both getting ready for the PHM! So sad I'm not running it this year it's been my favorite race so far!

    1. Perfect idea to switch out swimming for running :)

I know, time has flown by so quickly. I wish I was running it this year, too!

  2. I love the "Almost There" song. It came on my iPod as I hit EPCOT during Princess 2012. Yes, I was almost there!

    1. Haha perfect timing for that song to come on for you! It is kind of my theme song right now actually (with the full marathon coming up)!

  3. I have never referenced disney before, but when I am at mile 11 of a 13.1 mile run and I start to get weak I just say to myself "you can do this" and that has always gotten me through!

My favorite life quote is of course, from Beauty & the Beast - "It'll work out in the end, you'll see" - Mrs. Potts <3

    1. I thought about doing that - but that would have been quite a few pics to make lol!! If you have Picasa, you could make one pretty easily for your favorite quote :) They have an 'add text' button.

That Mrs. Potts quote is definitely a good one!

  6. Love this post! I'm on a MAJOR Mary Poppins kick lately so this one is my favorite: “In every job that must be done, there is an element of fun.” -- Mary Poppins, Mary Poppins

  7. Awww, love it! I'm a sucker for a good Walt Disney quote. "Go the Distance" was my marathon training song -- I listened to it constantly, and on every single training run! -- and then when I had my iPod on shuffle at the actual start of the race and it came on randomly as the very first song I almost died. Nothing like a good mantra or motivational quote or a song to give you that little extra push you need. :)

    1. Walt Disney himself is the speaker of many of my favorites quotes as well! He was so wise, because adults really are kids at heart :)

Go the Distance is, like, the PERFECT training song! That is quite a serendipitous moment when it was your first song during a race! A good quote/song can definitely make a difference while you are running!
