Weekly Recap 9/9 – 9/15

Today is a very special day. Before I talk about this week’s workouts, I want to say how proud I am of my brother, who today heads out to Army boot camp in Oklahoma. He is such an inspiration to me and he will undoubtedly do amazing things in the Army! I cannot wait to see him again at Christmas!

As far as training this past week, it went extremely well! I did my long run of 8 miles this Saturday morning outside on my two mile loop at the park. Even though the humidity was high, the sun stayed behind the clouds and honestly, it was just a great run. I think part of it was because I ran ‘naked’ AKA without my Garmin, so I had NO idea what my pace was – I just ran as I felt comfortable!

My workouts this week:

Monday: Jillian Michael’s Six Week Six-Pack (35 minutes)

Tuesday: 4 x (1200 meters fast pace + 400 meters walk)

1200 meters pace = 8:45 min/mile
400 meters pace = comfortable walk

Wednesday: Jillian Michael’s Killer Buns & Thighs (40 minutes)

Thursday: 5 Mile Maintenance Run (Pace: 10:30 min/mile)

Friday: Rest Day/Stretch

Saturday: 8 Mile Long Run (Pace: Unknown)

Sunday: Upper body strength training with some core exercises as well (30 minutes)

Monday Motivation – Army style!
