Austria Part 1 – Mayrhofen

As I mentioned in my recap on Wednesday, Robert and I took a trip to Austria last week as a way to celebrate our upcoming one year wedding anniversary (less than 2 weeks away)! Robert found a great deal on Sweet Jack for our hotel’s off-season (Mayrhofen is a popular skiing area) that we just could not pass up. Plus, neither of us have been to Europe before, so it was a very exciting new adventure!

When we arrived in Munich, Germany early on Sunday morning, we picked up our rental car without trouble and began the 2 hour drive to our hotel in in Mayrhofen, Austria.

Once we arrived, we checked in to our hotel, unpacked our suitcases, then headed back out to explore the beautiful town of Mayrhofen.

After our day of exploration, we headed back to the resort for a delicious four-course dinner, followed by an evening swim in the hotel’s heated pool overlooking the mountains!

We had so much fun and this was just Day 1! Stay tuned for more photos and recaps from Innsbruck, Salzburg, and hiking the Krimmler Waterfalls!

QOTD: Have you ever vacationed in mountains? Do you enjoy it?

  1. My parents have a house in Rockies. While I love it in the summer, winter is a bit too cold for this Texas girl. I have to pack layers.

  3. Gorgeous! What a beautiful view! Did you find the hotel a lot different because it was Europe? (obviously, I've never been to Europe or I wouldn't ask. LOL)

    1. It was pretty different but I can't say I have much to compare it to because I've never really been to a mountain lodge here in the US, just beach resorts and Disney mostly LOL!
