Running Playlist – Disney Edition

Although I sometimes enjoy running without music, for races and long training runs, I prefer listening to it. I find it soothing, motivating, and it helps me to get in my zone. Today I want to talk about those Disney songs out there that can keep you happy and motivated during a run - I know everyone has different taste in music, but I bet everyone out there has at least one Disney song that they love enough to have on their playlist!

Here are the Disney songs I currently have on my iPod:

“Go the Distance” from Hercules
“I Just Can’t Wait to be King” from The Lion King
”Circle of Life” from The Lion King
”Hakuna Matata” from The Lion King

”Strangers Like Me” from Tarzan
”Just Beyond the Riverbend” from Pocahontas

“Eye to Eye” from A Goofy Movie
“Stand Out” from A Goofy Movie
“Almost There” from Princess and the Frog
“I’ve Got a Dream” from Tangled
”When Will My Life Begin” from Tangled

(I really need to add “I’ll Make a Man Out of You” from Mulan)

Yes, I know there is a lot, but what can I say? They are great songs! “Go the Distance” is probably what I would call my “go to” song for serious motivation. It may not be an entirely upbeat song, but the words are so powerful!

QOTD: Do you have any Disney songs that motivate you during a run?

  1. I have two different Disney lists on my iPhone. One has as many songs as possible and the other is in my workout lists folder. It's just fun

  2. "something that I want" from Tangled is a good one!

  3. I love to listen to "When Will My Life Begin" during my morning runs. Usually around 7am. ;)

    1. Haha when I read this comment all I could think was the first line of that song "7 am the usual morning line up..." :)

  4. Hi Lauren,
I currently don't have any Disney Songs on my play list, but after reading yours, I may want to add songs from the Lion King. I always thought they were "fun" songs! I remember certain songs from The Little Mermaid sound track being "fun" as well. Thanks for the suggestions!

    1. Agreed, there are a lot of fun songs from those movies :)

Glad I could help with suggestions!
