New Thrills coming to Tower of Terror

A new video has been released by runDisney for the 2013 Tower of Terror 10-Miler. It is very much a teaser trailer for some expected changes and enhancements from last year. It alludes to possible changes in lighting at some points, as well as new character photo opportunities! While it does not give away much, it does make a point in saying that these enhancements will result in:

1. More Scares
More Fun
More Thrills

We can expect more news about specifics this summer. The only downside to this race (from 2012) that I have heard at this point was the extreme heat and humidity, which is obviously out of Disney’s control, so I am very curious to find out what sort of changes are going to be made.

I am also hoping Disney releases the 2013 medal design soon; I can’t wait to see it! I am so excited to run this race in a few months!

The races take place the weekend of October 4-5, and if you haven’t signed up yet, there is still some room left – The 10-miler is currently at 88%, and the Happy Haunted 5K Trail Run is at 52%. Also, if you have spectators coming along, don’t forget to purchase tickets for the Disney Villains Hollywood Bash after-party (FYI: this is included in the 10-miler participant race registration)!

Register here for the Tower of Terror 10-Miler: Now at $165 per participant

Register here for the Happy Haunted 5K Trail Run: $50 per participant

Purchase tickets here for the Disney Villains Hollywood Bash: $64 per person until September 4th, then goes up to $74 per person

QOTD: Did you run this race last year? Are you running it this year? What do you hope these changes will be?

  1. This is on my race bucket list! Looks like so much fun! I can't wait to read all your recaps.

    1. I am SO excited for this - it will be my first night race! Which year do you think you'll do TOT?

    2. I live in CA, so it's a long trip for us. I want to get our C2C sometime during 2014, probably with Wine & Dine. Then there's always the WDW full. TOT gets put on the back burner. :/

    3. Definitely understand... I'll be at Wine & Dine in 2014 too!!
