‘Be Our Guest’ Review

‘Be Our Guest’ is one of Walt Disney World’s newest additions to Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland. It is a restaurant built inside, and artistically decorated based on, the castle from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Today I would like to talk about why you should eat at this amazing new restaurant after your next runDisney race!

First and foremost, let’s talk food. The menu is very diverse, and there is something for everyone. There are plenty of options for proteins and carbohydrates so no runner can complain! Robert and I ate there for lunch when we visited for the Princess Half Marathon Weekend back in February, and we loved it – it is a huge step above usual theme park food. I had the Croque Monsieur (Grilled Sandwich of Carved Ham and Gruyere Cheese and Bechamel with Pommes Frites), while Robert enjoyed the Carved Prime Chuck Roast Beef Sandwich (Served warm on a Baguette with Horseradish Sour Cream and Pommes Frites). For dessert we shared a rich, decadent, mouthwatering Triple Chocolate Cupcake (Chocolate Sponge Cake, Chocolate Mousse Filling and Chocolate Ganache). Can you tell I have a sweet tooth?

I do recommend this restaurant post race. We ate here the day before I ran the half marathon, which in hindsight was not the best idea, considering it is very rich - and not exactly healthy - food. However, I was lucky and I did not have any stomach issues from it that weekend. Next time I REALLY hope we can get dinner reservations, but I hear it books up fast!

Oh, and if you get the chance, you should try the new ‘LeFou’s Brew’ at Gaston’s Tavern. It is very tasty (however, it is not quite as good as the Butterbeer from The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in my humble opinion).

Next is the most exciting part – the atmosphere and décor! When you first walk in, you truly feel as if you are walking into a castle when you go through the iron gates. Inside, we went down a hallway where there were beautiful chandeliers and armored soldiers. From there, we ordered our lunch and went to find a table to await the delivery of our food French cuisine. There are three rooms to choose from; The Grand Ballroom, The West Wing, or Belle’s Library.

I love the Grand Ballroom because 1) you really feel as if you are in a scene from the movie, and 2) the windows are made to look like it is snowing on a mountain top in the distance (definitely my favorite part of the restaurant)! The West Wing was also very fun; it is a much darker room of course, with the ripped photo of the beast in prince form, and the film’s iconic wilting rose. Finally, there is Belle’s library, which features bright colors and framed photos of Belle, Beast, and other well-known characters from the movie.

  2. Yes! My daughter and I ate lunch there back in February. LOVED IT! I just really loved the theming and it was so great to order and have the food brought to us instead of trying to juggle trays, drinks, and finding a table.

    2. Yes, I got the chocolate and she got the strawberry and then we just cut them in half and shared so we could taste both! I liked the chocolate more and well...they could have been bigger, but I'm just being greedy! LOL!
